Irricana Kountry Kennel

The next stop on our celebratory road trip is Irricana Kountry Kennel, a family-owned and operated pet care haven. Located just NE of Irricana on 30 picturesque acres, this kennel is the heart and soul of Tracy and Alan Goodbrand, lifelong animal lovers whose passion for pets drives everything they do. At Irricana Kountry Kennel, the well-being and happiness of animals come first, providing top-notch pet boarding, dog daycare, and professional dog training. Committed to the highest standards of care, they offer comfortable and safe accommodations for dogs, cats, and other pets, as well as special workshops for pet owners.

Since becoming a valued Community Futures Wild Rose client in 2016, Irricana Kountry Kennel has continued to thrive, delivering exceptional care in a serene country setting. Read on to learn their story as told by Tracy Goodbrand, herself.

The inception of our business sprang from a deep-seated passion for animals intertwined with a desire for self-sustainability. With our 30-acre property, my husband, Alan, and I envisioned making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals. After years of meticulous feasibility studies and market research, observing numerous kennels, we identified a pressing need for a commercial kennel in our area. Our commitment to prioritizing the welfare of pets above all else propelled us to open our doors, with the mantra “where pets come first” guiding every decision.

One pivotal moment in my journey occurred when I delved into the world of dog breeding and competitions with my Doberman Pinschers. Engaging in dog shows and sports competitions not only deepened my bond with my dogs but also unveiled the incredible capabilities of these animals. This experience ignited a passion for dog training, prompting me to become a certified Pro Dog Trainer. Now, I can impart my insights and expertise to fellow dog enthusiasts, enriching their lives and fostering success.

A defining moment as a business owner transpired when the Town of Irricana approached me to name their newly constructed dog park after me. Despite residing just outside the town limits, the recognition for our contributions to animal welfare and pet services was immensely humbling. The establishment of the “Tracy Goodbrand Dog Park” stands as a testament to our dedication, a source of immense pride and gratitude.

Our vision extends beyond the kennel; we aspire to create a vibrant hub for dog lovers in our community. Our ongoing endeavours include developing a large indoor training facility to accommodate various activities and competitions and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Our ultimate legacy is to build a lasting impact, ensuring that our dedication to animals and community service endures for generations to come.
