Thirty years ago, a shift from the oil and gas industry led my parents and me to venture into the creative realm by acquiring a sign and decal company in Calgary. This marked the birth of Indus Graphics, later incorporated as Indus Graphics Inc. Following my father's passing 11 years ago, I assumed leadership, with my husband, Todd, joining the venture four years ago. An opportune move to Langdon allowed us to seamlessly transition to a home-based setup just two weeks before the onset of COVID.
An impactful moment in my entrepreneurial journey came during a business conference where I was confronted with a pivotal question: 'Are you building a corporation or a lifestyle?' The revelation shifted my perspective, alleviating the pressure to conform to a corporate model. Opting for a lifestyle-oriented approach, I found a renewed focus on delivering quality products and excellent customer service.
Pride in our business stems not from singular moments but from numerous small victories. Customer referrals reinforce the value we provide. Supporting the local community is a reciprocal relationship. Serving both corporate clients and locals for over two decades, our commitment to quality has sustained enduring relationships.
Beyond business, I aspire to inspire women to fearlessly navigate their chosen fields. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, confidence in my experience and interpersonal skills has been pivotal. Active involvement in the Langdon & District Chamber of Commerce for over a decade has allowed me to witness and contribute to the exponential growth of our local business community.
My legacy encompasses a commitment to professional integrity, community support, and empowering others. Volunteering on the Chamber's board, supporting local organizations, and fostering youth programming through initiatives like the Langdon Youth Council reflect my dedication to building a thriving local business environment. Langdon embraces the ethos of 'work, live, and play'. I look forward to its continued prosperity.
