Knievel Insurance has been a proud part of the Trochu community for 50 years. It was originally founded by Marlene Knievel and is now run by her family. Known for their warm, welcoming office and dedication to exceptional customer service, Knievel Insurance continues to build lasting relationships with clients across the region. Deeply rooted in community support, the team regularly volunteers and contributes to local causes. Their involvement includes supporting the Friends of Tro-Val School modernization project, helping bring the Big Tee to Trochu, backing school councils, and currently working with the Trochu Housing Society to fundraise for a new health care facility.

Elantive Physiotherapy in Three Hills is a locally owned and operated clinic dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of the Kneehill County community. Founded by Jordana Ferguson, Elantive offers personalized physiotherapy, mental health counselling, and personal fitness training with a patient-centred approach that empowers individuals to take control of their health. Beyond the clinic, Elantive actively supports local sports teams and community initiatives throughout the year, including the Junior B Hockey organization, minor hockey, and the curling club. Their commitment to wellness and community makes them a standout nominee for the Heart of our Community Business Award.

Balkwill Pharmacy has proudly served the Trochu community for over 100 years, earning its reputation as the trusted "Local Health Solution." With a prescribing pharmacist on site, they provide a wide range of clinical services along with home healthcare products, school supplies, giftware, and more. Deeply committed to giving back, Balkwill Pharmacy supports numerous local events and organizations, including the Trochu Ag Society Bull-A-Rama, Elnora Ag Society Brahama Rama, Friends of Tro-Val, Kneehill Minor and Pond Hockey tournaments, golf tournaments, curling bonspiels, Trochu Senior Housing events, school sports and fundraisers, Seniors Outreach Week, local quilters’ and crafters’ retreats, and the Flapjack Fiesta Community Showcase. Revue's in Trochu

Revue's in Trochu may be new to Main Street, but they’ve already made a meaningful impact in the community. Since opening in March 2024, this charming thrift and consignment shop (filled with antiques, treasures, and local finds) has hosted silent auctions supporting the Food Bank, Trochu Daycare, the Arboretum, and the Trochu Ag Society. With Janice Tudor as the warm and welcoming “Hostess with the Mostest,” Revue’s is a hub for community connection. Proudly rooted in Trochu, they live, work, and play in the heart of town, and they invite everyone to discover what makes this place so special.

Red Bird Diner

  

Red Bird Diner is our next nominee for the Heart of Our Community Business Award. Serving Trochu for 15 years, this beloved local diner started in a small house at The Arboretum before expanding downtown and later moving into the historic Blue Quill building. Known for its wholesome home cooking and generous portions, Red Bird Diner is more than just a place to eat, it’s a community staple. They actively give back by donating gift cards to local events, silent auctions, and fundraisers, ensuring their impact extends far beyond their doors.

Sweet P’s is a cherished part of the Trochu community, offering coffee, home goods, gifts, and flowers with a personal touch. Beyond their warm and welcoming atmosphere, they are deeply committed to giving back. Sweet P’s supports Trochu Valley School sports, parent council, and local playschools, along with Trochu Arena, Kneehill Minor Hockey, and hockey programs. They contribute to local fundraisers, golf tournaments, and events hosted by the Town of Trochu. They also provide bulk flower discounts to organizations like Trochu Dance Troupe and area schools. Their generosity also extends to Trochu Seniors Housing, Community Closet, and the Arboretum.
